Grow Lights

Give indoor plants the light they need when natural daylight is limited.

Vego Garden LED grow lights provide full-spectrum white light for seedlings, herbs, leafy greens, houseplants, and other indoor growing projects. Choose from compact tabletop stands, magnetic fixtures, hanging lights, and seed-starting setups designed for different spaces and levels of control.

Start with what you want to grow, then compare light output, growing area, mounting style, and controls to find the setup that fits your plants and your home.

Find the Right Grow Light for What You Grow

A grow light for one houseplant does not need the same setup as a light used above seed trays or a larger indoor garden.

Start with the plants, then choose the fixture.

Grow Lights for Seed Starting

Seedlings need consistent light as they develop, and the fixture should be easy to reposition as plants grow taller.

For tray-based seed starting, look for:

• Broad, even light across the growing area
• Adjustable fixture height
• Enough clearance for seedling growth
• A setup that leaves trays accessible for watering and care

The Starter Grow Light Stand combines a wider tabletop light head with up to 17.5 inches of height adjustment. Its 19W full-spectrum LED provides a straightforward setup for seedlings and small indoor growing projects.

For gardeners who also need humidity control during germination, the 10" × 20" Grow Light with Humidity Dome combines lighting with a vented propagation dome.

Grow Lights for Herbs and Leafy Greens

Herbs and leafy greens benefit from a regular lighting routine, especially when they are grown away from a bright window.

The Classic Grow Light Stand combines an adjustable tabletop frame with plant-specific preset modes and automatic timing.

Seeds, Leafy, Herbs, Fruits, and Microgreens modes give you a practical starting point without requiring you to manually set light intensity and duration every day.

This setup works well for kitchen herbs, leafy greens, microgreens, and other plants you want to keep within easy reach for harvesting.

Grow Lights for Houseplants

For houseplants, the right fixture often depends as much on space as on the plant itself.

The Mini Grow Light Stand is designed for small growing areas such as desks, countertops, and windowsills. Its compact footprint and adjustable height make it a practical option for individual plants, herbs, or small clusters.

If your plants already sit on shelving, the Classic Grow Light provides a magnetic mounting option that keeps the shelf surface free for pots.

Choose the format that allows you to position the light properly above the plants rather than choosing a grow lamp based on appearance alone.

How to Choose Grow Lights for Indoor Plants

The best grow light is not simply the largest or brightest fixture.

Plant type, light output, coverage, distance, daily light duration, and fixture placement all influence how useful a light will be in your growing space.

Match the Light to Your Growing Area

Measure the area your plants will occupy—not just the size of the pot.

Include:

• Container width
• Mature plant height
• Number of plants
• Space between plants
• Clearance above the foliage

A tray or group of pots may physically fit beneath a grow light without receiving even light across the entire growing area.

Plan the plant arrangement first, then compare it with the fixture dimensions and recommended placement.

Compare Light Output, Not Just Fixture Size

A larger grow light is not automatically a more effective plant grow light.

When technical specifications are available, look at plant-lighting measurements such as PPFD and PPE alongside wattage.

Wattage tells you how much electrical power the fixture uses.

PPFD describes how much photosynthetically active light reaches a given area.

PPE indicates how efficiently the fixture converts electrical energy into plant-usable photons.

These measurements are more useful for plant lighting than judging a fixture by visual brightness alone.

PPFD values should only be compared directly when measurement distance and testing conditions are consistent.

Choose the Right Level of Control

Not every indoor gardener needs the same controls.

If you want straightforward operation, the Mini and Starter models use simple on/off controls.

If you prefer built-in scheduling, the Classic models provide plant-specific preset modes with timed operation.

For more control over brightness and photoperiod, the Ultimate Grow Light offers both presets and customizable settings.

Think about how often you want to adjust the light manually before paying for features you may not use.

Consider Placement and Mounting

The best LED grow lights are useful only if they can be positioned correctly around your plants.

Vego offers several installation formats:

Tabletop stands

Useful when you do not have shelving or an overhead mounting point.

Magnetic mounting

Useful for compatible shelving or existing grow-light structures.

Hanging fixtures

Useful when you need more flexibility over height and coverage.

Choose the mounting style based on your actual growing space, not only the fixture specifications.

Know the Grow Light Numbers

Grow light specifications can look technical, but a few measurements are especially useful when comparing products.

PPFD: Light Reaching the Plant

PPFD measures the amount of photosynthetically active light reaching a surface.

For example, the Mini Grow Light Stand is rated at 110 µmol/m²/s PPFD, while the Starter is rated at 135 µmol/m²/s.

Use these values together with placement guidance rather than treating PPFD as a stand-alone performance score.

PPE: Lighting Efficiency

PPE measures how efficiently a grow light converts electricity into photons plants can use for photosynthesis.

The Mini is rated at 1.918 µmol/J, while the Starter is rated at 1.995 µmol/J.

PPE is useful for understanding fixture efficiency, while PPFD tells you more about the light reaching the growing area.

CCT: How the White Light Looks

CCT, or correlated color temperature, describes the visible appearance of white light.

Vego's Mini and Starter fixtures use full-spectrum white LEDs at approximately 4000K, producing a neutral white appearance that works naturally in kitchens, offices, living spaces, and other indoor growing areas.

CCT describes visible appearance; it should not be used alone to judge plant-growing performance.

Start with the format and growing area you need, then compare power and controls.

Simple Control: Mini and Starter

Choose Mini or Starter when you prefer a straightforward grow light without built-in scheduling.

Mini is better suited to a compact plant setup, while Starter provides a wider light head and slightly greater height adjustment for seed-starting and multi-plant arrangements.

Guided Control: Classic

Choose Classic when you want the light to handle more of the daily routine.

Five preset modes—Seeds, Leafy, Herbs, Fruits, and Microgreens—combine plant-specific light output with timed operation.

This makes Classic a good middle ground between simple manual lighting and fully customizable control.

Advanced Control: Ultimate

Choose Ultimate when you want higher output and more control over the lighting schedule.

Its 60W full-spectrum LED system includes five plant-specific presets plus five brightness levels and five timer durations, creating 25 custom brightness-and-time combinations.

Use presets for a quick starting point, or adjust the light cycle and intensity as your growing project changes.

Why Choose Vego Garden Grow Lights?

Vego grow lights are designed around both plant performance and the practical realities of growing indoors.

The collection ranges from simple countertop lighting to more adjustable fixtures for larger or more advanced setups.

Full-Spectrum White LED Lighting

Vego grow lights use full-spectrum white LEDs designed to support plant growth while maintaining a natural-looking light in the home.

Full spectrum is only part of the equation. Light intensity, fixture distance, coverage, and daily duration all influence how much usable light a plant ultimately receives.

That is why Vego provides different output levels and controls across the collection rather than treating every indoor plant setup the same way.

Controls That Match Your Experience Level

You do not need advanced settings to grow one herb plant, and you should not be limited to an on/off switch when managing a more demanding indoor setup.

Vego's range progresses naturally from:

Mini / Starter

Simple manual operation.

Classic

Plant-specific presets and automatic timing.

Ultimate

Presets plus customizable brightness and photoperiod.

Choose the amount of control that matches the way you actually want to grow.

Flexible Placement

Indoor gardens come in many forms.

Adjustable tabletop stands work on desks and counters. Magnetic fixtures integrate with compatible shelving, while hanging lights give you more flexibility over height and installation.

This makes it easier to build the lighting system around your available space rather than reorganizing the room around the grow light.

Designed to Adjust as Plants Grow

Plant height and light requirements change during growth.

Adjustable stands and hanging positions make it easier to maintain an appropriate relationship between the fixture and plant canopy as seedlings become established and mature.

Always follow the placement guidance for the specific light and adjust based on plant response.

Expand Your Grow Light Setup

Already using a compatible Vego Grow Light Garden?

Expansion kits allow you to add another functional growing layer without replacing the complete system.

Grow Light Garden Conversion Kit

The standard Conversion Kit combines an additional grow light with a 1020 Standard Tray.

Use it when you want to add another growing layer for seedlings or plants within a compatible Grow Light Garden.

Grow Light Garden Conversion Kit Pro

The Pro version pairs the grow light with a 1020 Potting Tray.

It is designed for gardeners who want an additional work surface for transplanting, repotting, and other plant-care tasks.

Starting a New Indoor Garden?

If you do not already own a compatible frame, compare complete Vego Grow Light Garden systems rather than purchasing an expansion kit on its own.

Choose the complete setup based on growing capacity, available floor space, lighting control, and the number of trays you plan to use.
