Modern Raised Garden Beds

Vego Garden Modern Raised Garden Beds bring clean lines and an architectural look to productive outdoor growing spaces. This collection includes two distinct systems: Modern Garden Beds with streamlined profiles and defined footprints, and Modern Pro Garden Beds with double wall construction, additional size and shape options, and taller configurations.

Choose the product system first, then compare height, size, shape, color, and compatible accessories. Modern and Modern Pro use different construction and accessory systems, so they should not be treated as interchangeable.

If you prefer flexible configurations that can create several layouts from one kit, compare the Classic Raised Garden Beds collection or explore all Vego Garden Raised Garden Beds.

Compare Modern and Modern Pro Raised Garden Beds

Modern and Modern Pro share a clean, contemporary design direction, but they are built for different needs.

Modern Garden Beds

Modern Garden Beds combine a streamlined metal profile with clearly defined dimensions, making it easier to measure your available space and plan the finished layout before installation.

The current range primarily uses a height of 17 inches and includes square and rectangular footprints for patios, backyards, side yards, and other residential growing spaces.

Selected Modern Garden Beds also include holes along the upper panels for threading garden twine, allowing gardeners to create an organized planting grid.

Modern is a good choice if you want:

• A clean and streamlined appearance
• A standard growing height
• Clearly defined square or rectangular dimensions
• Easy planning for patios, fences, and pathways
• An integrated option for creating a planting grid

Modern Pro Garden Beds

Modern Pro combines contemporary styling with a more substantial structural design.

Its double wall construction increases rigidity and creates an air pocket between the inner and outer walls. The current Modern Pro range includes options with heights of 17 and 32 inches, along with square, rectangular, and selected L shaped layouts.

Modern Pro is a good choice if you want:

• Double wall construction
• A choice between heights of 17 and 32 inches
• Selected L shaped layouts
• A higher working surface
• A more substantial architectural presence
• Modern Pro specific structural and soil management accessories

Similar dimensions or finishes do not make Modern, Modern Pro, and Classic systems interchangeable. Always check the product family before selecting accessories or additions.

Why Choose Modern Raised Garden Beds?

Modern Raised Garden Beds are designed for gardeners who want productive growing space to fit naturally into contemporary outdoor environments.

Their clean lines and coordinated finishes work well beside patios, fences, pathways, outdoor living areas, and modern homes while maintaining the practical advantages of raised bed gardening.

Clean Architectural Design

Modern Garden Beds use smooth surfaces, defined lines, and structured profiles to create a more architectural appearance than traditional garden containers.

Individual beds can serve as simple growing areas, while several matching beds can be arranged together to create an organized kitchen garden or coordinated backyard layout.

Consistent finishes and dimensions also make it easier to connect the growing area visually with surrounding fences, paving, patios, and landscape features.

Defined Sizes for Easier Garden Planning

Modern Garden Beds are offered in clearly defined footprints, making it easier to measure the installation area and plan the final layout before purchase.

Unlike Classic X in 1 kits, Modern beds are not primarily designed to create several different configurations from one set of panels.

This makes the Modern collection especially useful when you already know the amount of space you want to dedicate to your garden.

Built In Planting Grid Option

Selected Modern Garden Beds include holes along the upper panels for threading garden twine.

The lines can divide the growing area into organized planting sections, making it easier to separate crops, track newly planted areas, and plan smaller growing spaces efficiently.

Gardeners interested in this approach can also explore square foot gardening techniques for organizing crops within a defined growing area.

Choose the Right Height, Size, and Shape

Start by considering the preferred working height, available garden space, soil requirements, and the overall scale of the surrounding landscape.

Choose the Right Height

Modern and Modern Pro products are primarily available with heights of 17 and 32 inches.

A height of 17 inches

A bed with a height of 17 inches provides practical growing depth for many vegetables, herbs, flowers, and mixed plantings.

It raises the growing area above ground level while requiring less soil than a taller bed. It also maintains a lower profile beside patios, fences, pathways, and other landscape features.

A height of 32 inches

A height of 32 inches is primarily available within the Modern Pro range.

The higher growing surface reduces the need for deep bending and creates a more substantial visual boundary between garden areas and outdoor living spaces.

Selected Modern Pro beds with a height of 32 inches can also use a compatible Soil Saving Intermediate Floor to reduce the amount of fill required.

Consider accessibility, soil volume, planting needs, and visual scale before choosing between the two heights.

Choose the Right Shape

Rectangular beds

Rectangular layouts work well beside fences, patios, pathways, and narrow garden spaces. Longer footprints provide useful planting capacity while helping keep crops accessible from one or both sides.

Square beds

Square beds work well as central growing areas or as part of a repeated, symmetrical garden layout.

Make sure the center remains easy to reach without stepping into the soil, especially when access is limited to one or two sides.

L shaped beds

Selected Modern Pro models are available in L shaped layouts.

These beds can make effective use of corners or help define the edge between a growing area and an outdoor living space.

Measure the complete installation area before ordering and leave enough surrounding room for planting, watering, harvesting, and regular walking paths.

Materials and Construction

Modern and Modern Pro Garden Beds both use durable metal construction, but the two systems are not built in exactly the same way.

Understanding the construction differences is important when comparing products and selecting compatible accessories.

Modern Garden Bed Construction

Modern Garden Beds use galvanized magnesium aluminum steel with a durable powder coated finish.

The metal construction provides strength while helping protect the exterior surface from outdoor conditions.

Unlike untreated wood, metal panels do not rot, warp, or require routine staining or sealing.

Selected Modern products also use finishes that have passed relevant food contact safety testing and are suitable for growing vegetables, herbs, berries, and other edible plants when used as directed.

Modern Pro Construction

Modern Pro Garden Beds combine powder coated galvanized steel panels with aluminum posts and a double wall profile.

The double wall structure improves rigidity while creating an air pocket between the walls.

This construction is specific to Modern Pro and should not be assumed to apply to every product in the Modern collection.

For long term performance, follow the assembly and care instructions for the selected model and avoid damaging protective surfaces with sharp tools or harsh chemicals.

Choose Compatible Accessories

Modern, Modern Pro, and Classic Garden Beds use different construction and mounting systems.

Always confirm the product family, height, exterior dimensions, and compatibility information before ordering an accessory.

Modern Garden Beds should be paired with products identified as compatible with the Modern system. Available options may include irrigation systems, garden lighting, planting accessories, and organization products.

Modern Pro has its own accessory system and may support structural additions and soil management products designed for specific dimensions.

For example, the Soil Saving Intermediate Floor is designed for selected Modern Pro beds with a height of 32 inches. It should not be treated as a universal bottom panel for all Modern Garden Beds.

Do not assume that similar colors, dimensions, or product names mean two products use the same mounting system.
