What is the EZCube Planter Extension Kit?
The Extension Kit expands the capacity of your EZCube Planter, giving you more growing space while maintaining the same self-watering and modular functionality.
How much growing space does it add?
The Extension Kit effectively adds a central expansion section to your original EZCube planter, increasing the total bed volume and planting surface area.
Is it compatible with all EZCube planters?
Yes, the Extension Kit is compatible with both the 21" x 24" and 21" x 48" EZCube planters. However, for a better experience and easier installation, we recommend pairing it with the 21" x 48" model. If you're considering extending a 21" x 24", it's often more practical to start with a 21" x 48" planter instead.
Does it maintain the self-watering function?
Yes! The extension connects to the original planter’s wicking reservoir system using corrugated hoses and water level regulators, maintaining consistent moisture across the entire bed.
How do I know if it’s working correctly?
After assembly, fill the reservoir and monitor the water gauge. If the water level does not drop significantly within 15 minutes and there are no leaks, the system is functioning properly.
How difficult is assembly?
It’s designed for straightforward assembly with clear instructions and labeled parts. Most users can install it using simple tools in under 1 hour.
What kind of soil should I use?
Use a high-quality potting or wicking bed mix that contains 30–50% coir. Avoid peat-heavy blends, which can retain too much water.
How do I water after installing the Extension Kit?
Continue using the built-in water fill port and water gauge. For quick filling, it’s also compatible with a quick-connect hose system (sold separately).
Can I install multiple extensions?
Yes! Just like our Raised Beds, this system is modular and ready to be made yours!
Can I use the Extension Kit to build any shape, like an L-shape or U-shape?
The Extension Kit only supports straight-line expansion. For corner or L-shaped layouts, we recommend using multiple standalone 21" x 24" or 21" x 48" EZCube planters instead.
