Raised Garden Beds & Garden Bed Kits | Vego Garden

Shop raised garden beds for vegetables, herbs and flowers. Compare Classic modular kits, Modern and Modern Pro beds, Woodgrain finishes and self-watering Foodcubes to find a layout, working height and watering...

Compare Raised Garden Bed Collections

Start with the layout flexibility, appearance and watering approach you prefer. Then compare heights and footprints within your chosen collection.

Collection	Height options	Sizes and configurations	Choose it for
Classic Garden Beds	14, 17, 26 or 32 inches	4-in-1, 6-in-1, 9-in-1, 10-in-1 and X-in-1 kits. Examples include 3.5 × 6.5 ft and 4 × 8 ft. Selected round, L-shaped, U-shaped and cascading designs are also available.	Modular layouts and a choice of bed heights.
Modern Garden Beds	Modern: 17 inches. Modern Pro: 17 or 32 inches.	Defined footprints. Modern examples include 2 × 4 ft and 4 × 8 ft. Modern Pro examples include 27 × 83 in and 42 × 83 in, with selected square and L-shaped layouts.	Clean lines and a garden planned around specific dimensions.
Woodgrain Garden Beds	Raised models: 16 or 26 inches	Examples include 2 × 8 ft, 4 × 4 ft and 4 × 8 ft, plus selected L-shaped and U-shaped layouts.	A woodgrain appearance with metal construction.
Self-Watering Foodcubes	Standard models: 19.7 inches	Slim: 45.3 × 26.4 in. Large: 45.3 × 45.3 in.	Polypropylene beds with an integrated reservoir and wicking system.

Options vary by model. Listed bed heights are not the same as usable planting depth, particularly in beds with reservoirs or internal floors.

Woodgrain and Foodcube collections also include elevated versions. For planting containers on legs, explore Elevated Garden Beds and compare overall height with usable soil depth.

Choose Your Raised Garden Bed Height and Width

In bottomless beds, wall height affects the planting position and fill volume. Choose a height for your preferred working position, then check how far you can comfortably reach across the bed.

Compare Classic Height Options

These Classic 9-in-1 examples use the same footprint of 3.5 by 6.5 feet. Other collections have different height options.

Listed capacities without a Soil Saving Floor or self-watering floor

Classic height	Why choose it	Listed soil capacity
17 inches	A lower profile with less fill than taller versions of the same footprint. Allow space below the rim for watering and mulch.	32 ft³
26 inches	A higher planting surface than 17 inches, with less fill than a 32-inch bed of the same footprint.	49 ft³
32 inches	A higher surface for frequent thinning, weeding and harvesting, which can reduce deep bending.	61 ft³

Match Bed Width to Your Reach

With access from both sides, the approximate distance from an edge to the center is 12 inches for a 2-foot bed, 21 inches for a 3.5-foot bed and 24 inches for a 4-foot bed.

Try that reach at your planned soil height. Along a fence or wall, measure from the accessible side. A taller bed still needs a width that lets you tend plants comfortably.

Estimate Your Soil Needs

Wall height is not filled soil depth. For example, a 17-inch bed filled to 2 inches below the rim contains about 15 inches of soil, assuming no bottom fill or internal floor.

Listed capacities are approximate. Adjust for the actual fill level, bottom layers and settling. In bottomless beds over suitable native soil, roots may continue growing below the frame.

A compatible Soil Saving Floor raises the internal base in selected 32-inch Classic layouts and reduces fill volume. Confirm the supported configuration and remaining planting depth before ordering.

Modular Raised Bed Kits and Garden Layouts

Classic modular raised bed kits let you build one bed in one of several supported layouts. A 6-in-1 kit, for example, offers six configurations using the same panels.

Choose your layout before ordering soil, covers and other fitted accessories.

Leave Paths Between Planting Areas

For a larger raised bed garden, arrange multiple beds with paths between them. Leave clearance for your usual tools and equipment, and keep routine foot traffic off the growing soil.

Metal Raised Garden Bed Materials and Construction

Classic beds use corrugated VZ 2.0 steel: a steel core with a zinc, aluminum and magnesium metallic coating, finished with protective paint. These layers help the steel resist outdoor corrosion.

Modern Pro combines powder-coated galvanized steel panels, aluminum posts and double-wall construction. Modern and Modern Pro use separate construction and accessory systems, so confirm the product family when choosing additions.

Follow the care instructions for your model to protect its finish. See Vego Garden materials and coatings for details about VZ 2.0.

Set Up Your Bed and Choose Accessories

Assemble Your Chosen Layout Before Filling

Classic panels have predrilled holes and bolt together with the supplied hardware. Standard kit assembly requires no cutting or drilling. Follow the configuration guide, fit the protective edging and position the bed before filling.

Install Foodcubes on level ground and complete the manufacturer’s water test before adding growing medium.

Choose Your Watering Setup

Drip irrigation: run compatible tubing along planting rows to deliver water near the soil surface and reduce repetitive hand watering.
Spray watering: the Vego Irrigation Kit attaches through existing bolt holes on compatible beds, with no additional drilling.
Self-watering: Foodcubes use a reservoir and wicking system. Follow the setup instructions and check water levels as plant demand and weather change.

Add Compatible Plant Supports

Choose compatible plant supports and trellises for climbing crops. Check the bed series and layout, and plan support positions before planting so you can still reach the growing area.

Soil, plants and accessories are sold separately unless included in the selected bundle. Check the product’s package list before ordering.

Raised Flower Beds

Create a cutting garden, a seasonal flower bed or a border with a raised bed that fits your space. Woodgrain finishes complement fences and decks, while matching metal finishes help connect several planting areas visually.

Check sunlight, planting depth and mature plant size before choosing flowers. Keep cutting stems within reach, considering both the bed height and the plants’ eventual height when planning for harvesting.
