Our innovative wicking cell system provides the option to close the bottom of Vego Garden Raised Beds, while providing just the right amount of moisture for your plants to thrive. The 3.5” tall wicking cell serves as a reservoir, collecting excess water and redistributing it to your plants over time, so you don't have to water as often. It is also designed with air pruning strips so that your plants’ roots air prune and don’t get oversaturated. The wicking cells serve as your garden bed's bottom, so it can be placed on a patio or balcony instead of soil.

Wicking Cell

Closing the bottom of the bed there is a 3.5" tall, self-watering, wicking cell. A wicking cell is a reservoir which collects excess water, and redistributes it to your plants over time, meaning you have to water less often.

Water Circulation

Soil fills the wicking cell top, and your plants’ roots will grow out through the slots in the sides of the plugs. When watered from the top, excess water drips through the open slots and collects in the tray below for the roots of your plants to draw from as needed.

Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or countries outside the U.S.?

Yes. Shipping to these destinations involves an additional shipping cost. Email hello@vegogarden.com with your address and order details, including the quantity, type, and color of the beds, so Customer Service can provide a shipping quote.

What if the package gets damaged during shipping?

Because of the weight of our packages, there may be some panels bent in transit if UPS/Fedex handle it in a rough way. No worries, you can fix this easily so your gardening isn't delayed. Our panels are manufactured through a bending process from flat steel coils, in other words, they were bent before. It will not affect the corrosion resistance to bend them back.
