Garden Beds

Shop garden beds for vegetables, herbs and flowers. Vego Garden offers ground-supported raised beds and elevated planters with modular layouts, woodgrain finishes and self-watering options.

Choose Your Garden Bed Type

Raised Garden Beds

Standard bottomless raised garden beds sit directly on the ground. Over suitable native soil, roots can grow below the frame. Use this style for a dedicated vegetable plot, a flower border or planting rows with paths between them.

Elevated Garden Beds

Elevated garden beds support a planting container on legs or a frame, making them useful on patios and other hard surfaces. A higher growing surface can reduce how far you need to bend during everyday care.

The standard metal elevated bed measuring 2 × 4 feet stands 32 inches tall without casters or 36 inches with casters, with 12 inches of soil depth. Leg height raises the container without adding root space.

Compare Garden Bed Collections and Materials

Classic Modular Metal Raised Garden Beds

Classic beds use corrugated metal panels with curved corners. Their VZ 2.0 steel has a zinc, aluminum and magnesium metallic coating with protective paint to help resist outdoor corrosion.

Each of these modular raised garden bed kits provides panels for one bed. A 9-in-1 kit offers nine supported configurations using the supplied panels. The metal panels need no routine staining or sealing.

Modern and Modern Pro Garden Beds

Modern and Modern Pro beds come in set sizes for planning rows or fitting a measured garden area. The 17-inch-tall Modern 4 × 8-foot model, for example, uses powder-coated galvanized steel panels and steel posts. Construction and accessory fit vary between the two series.

Woodgrain Metal Garden Beds

Woodgrain garden beds have a metal structure with a woodgrain finish that complements timber fences, decks and outdoor furniture. The collection includes both ground-supported and elevated designs.

Foodcube Wicking Beds

Foodcubes use food-grade polypropylene containers with integrated water reservoirs and wicking systems. Foodcube Slim has a listed 19.5-gallon reservoir and is offered in standard and elevated versions. It suits gardeners who want stored water supplied from below the growing medium.

Choose a Bed Height and Width

Raised Bed Height Options

Choose wall height together with bed width and soil requirements. These Classic examples show the main tradeoffs.

These measurements describe the walls. Soil level and any internal floor determine the usable planting depth and the height of the growing surface.

Bed Width and Your Reach

With access from both sides, the approximate distance from an edge to the center is:

Try that reach at your planned soil height. If a fence blocks one side, measure from the accessible side. A longer, narrow bed can add growing space while keeping the center within reach.

Rectangular beds suit rows, round beds create separate planting areas, and selected L or U designs fit corners or central paths. Leave clearance for yourself and the tools or cart you use.

Plan Soil Depth and Filling Volume

Compare Soil Capacity at the Same Footprint

These Classic 9-in-1 capacities use the same footprint of 3.5 × 6.5 feet, without an internal floor.

The 26-inch model’s listed capacity is 12 ft³ lower than the 32-inch version. Adjust your soil order for fill level, bottom layers and settling.

A 17-inch bed filled 2 inches below the rim holds about 15 inches of soil without bottom fill or an internal floor. Match this depth to your crops.

Reduce Fill with a Soil Saving Floor

A compatible Soil Saving Floor raises the base in selected 32-inch Classic configurations, leaving a listed 15-inch planting depth. You have less soil to buy and lift while keeping the taller outer bed. Confirm the supported configuration and your crops’ depth requirements.

Choose Watering and Mobility Features

Hand Watering and Drip Irrigation

Hand watering suits a few small planting areas. For larger layouts, compatible drip tubing delivers water near the soil surface. Position it around plant spacing and leave access for adjustments.

Self-Watering Garden Beds

Self-watering garden beds and planters use reservoirs and wicking structures to supply moisture from below. Foodcubes, EZCubes and compatible Classic wicking floors provide different options. Follow startup instructions and monitor water levels and soil moisture as weather and plant demand change.

Rolling Garden Beds

Rolling garden beds let you adjust a patio layout or make room for seating. Follow the model’s loading and movement instructions, and lock casters where fitted after positioning.

Self-Watering Elevated Rolling Garden Beds

The Self-Watering Elevated Rolling Garden Bed with Handle combines reservoir watering with wheels for flexible placement. It suits gardeners who need both features. Compare its working height and soil depth with other elevated beds before choosing a size.

Assembly and Garden Bed Accessories

Prepare and Assemble Before Filling

Prepare a stable base and plan drainage. Over concrete, also plan soil retention. For decks, confirm support for the filled container, including wet growing medium, stored water and plants.

Use Classic panels’ predrilled holes to assemble the supported layout. Fit required bracing, protective edging and any internal floor before filling. Set up Foodcubes on level ground and complete their water test before adding soil.

Compatible Garden Bed Accessories

Use trellises for climbing crops and choose covers for the protection your plants need. Match supports, covers and irrigation equipment to your bed series and assembled dimensions, and confirm package inclusions.
